One of the many perks of being in the NFT space is that I got to meet and interact with so many interesting and talented artists from around the world but more so from right here in Kenya! So in the spirit of sharing I decided to showcase some of my favorite ones in what will hopefully become a series. Lets begin with the person responsible for introducing me to the Kenya NFT Club or Mbogi ya NFT as we all call it, Sherie Margaret Njeri Ngigi!
She is the epitome of girl bossing! A rising filmmaker and photographer she is a multi talented artist whose work cuts across themes of femininity, Gender based violence and mental health. Her latest work has been a visual introspection into her journey through womanhood. It features vast backgrounds with curious subjects, the composition guiding your eyes and mind through this mind bending tour of womanhood.
Her work is a surrealist mix of dream-core and weird-core aesthetics that pairs well with the themes of the exhibition. The images themselves are powerful enough to take you on the same journey of self exploration and vividly capture this internal struggle for self.
Take a look at her work and follow her socials to keep up to date with one of her work and her contributions to the Kenya NFT space!
