A Beginners guide to Yesod.

All is Mind; the Universe is Mental.

That's the first of the seven Hermetic principles that describe the laws under which the universe operates. It basically means that for anything to be the mind must conceive. The universe and everything in it is a manifestation of thought.

Yesod shares the same principle, it is the link between the mind and matter. Being the point of convergence for Netzach and Hod, it gathers the energies of both, intuition and intellect in order to give rise to Malkuth.

Think about it this way…

Everything in the world is energy once you strip it to its most basic form. From Atoms, Neutrons, Protons all the way down to pure energy! The only difference being in how our senses perceive them. That being said, we ourselves are also energy beings with the ability to create and give rise to anything we desire. That's why manifestation and prayer are big religious and spiritual practices, because as energy beings we have the power to give rise to anything through our own intellect and intuition. Both things which we as humans rely on heavily, btw.

That's my understanding, Yesod is the path through which we create into the world out of the aether. Maybe it's the “zone” which you get into while working or creating. The space between where somehow you just know what to do next reflexively or where you go after a particularly intense meditation. A space on infinite possibilities and complete knowing through which your potential for creativity sky rockets!
